Donald Trump has no idea what’s even happening to him right now
Over the past few days, several of Donald Trump’s current and former administration officials gave cooperative first hand testimony to the House impeachment inquiry, even as more witnesses have come forward. The floodgates have opened, and everything that the original whistleblower has claimed has now been vindicated. Just don’t ask Trump to understand what’s happening to him.
This morning Donald Trump claimed that he didn’t even know who these impeachment inquiry witnesses were. That’s remarkable, considering he personally appointed most of them, and some of them worked with him directly. Okay, so maybe he’s just lying as usual. But tonight, Trump made a point of expressing an almost remarkable lack of understanding of what’s happening – and he seemed to forget that the witnesses even exist.
House Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff has recently suggested that because so many people directly involved with Donald Trump’s Ukraine whistleblower scandal have testified, the whistleblower who first sounded the alarm may not need to come out of hiding and take the risk of testifying. Here’s what Trump thinks is happening: “Shifty Adam Schiff wants to rest his entire case on a Whistleblower who he now says can’t testify, & the reason he can’t testify is that he is afraid to do so.”
What the hell is Donald Trump even talking about? He’s gone from trying to block his own officials from testifying, to claiming he doesn’t know who they are, to now taking the position that they don’t exist and that the whistleblower is the only witness involved. This is whacked out even by his standards. Something is more wrong with this guy than ever.
