There’s something bizarre going on right now with Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Nikki Haley

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump is acting out in maniacal fashion today, presumably as a result of looking at his 2020 poll numbers and realizing his current odds of winning are tiny at best. Even as Trump calls himself the “chosen one” and the “King of Israel” in a meltdown for the ages, it appears something bizarre is going on between Trump, Mike Pence, and Nikki Haley.

This afternoon, Donald Trump’s former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley posted this tweet: “Enough of the false rumors. Vice President Pence has been a dear friend of mine for years. He has been a loyal and trustworthy VP to the President. He has my complete support.” Wait a minute here – what rumors?

Yes, there’s been consistently faint background buzz about Trump dropping Pence from the 2020 ticket and adding Haley instead. But most people have never even so much as heard about the notion, and there certainly haven’t been any mainstream outlets promoting the possibility. Yet here’s Nikki Haley, doing her best to promote the rumor as loudly as she can, albeit in a backhanded manner.

This comes on a day when Trump has clearly figured out he’s on track to lose badly in 2020 (and then go to prison), and he’s surely searching for some way to salvage things by scapegoating someone. Haley seems to be sending a coded public signal to Trump that he should consider dumping Pence from the ticket. There’s something bizarre going on here, whatever it is.
