Nikki Haley just stepped in it (again)
“Oh no!”
“She didn’t.”
“She WENT there!”
“What a clueless thing to do!”
Before I get into who is the subject of all these horrified tweets, let me first talk about the one word that follows Republicans around, like a dog nipping at the heels of its owner. Clueless.
Clueless should be the name of the Republican party. It is their 24-hour state of mind. CLUELESS. Of course, it stands to reason that anybody running for President under the Republican name would ALSO be clueless. One of them proved it the other day.
The following story is painful. It’s painful because of the cluelessness at the root of the comments, the utter self-sabotage this “candidate” has been engaging in lately, and the complete fool she has made of herself. Nikki Haley.
Palmer Report said, from the beginning, that Nikki had no chance. The only reason she’s gotten the attention she has is because the media loves a good horse-race, and let’s face it, there ARE NOT good quality republican candidates to prop up.
They tried with Ron DeSantis. We all saw how THAT turned out. So they moved on to Haley. You all know about her deer-in-the-headlights moment when asked what caused the Civil War.
Haley participated in a CNN town hall the other night. She showed that the Civil War mistake was still very much on her mind, and she appeared to be still trying to do damage control.
But it all went wrong. People were embarrassed for her. I WAS embarrassed for her. So, Haley, beaming from ear to ear, cluelessly opened her mouth and said to Host Erin Burnett, the following “I had black friends growing up .”
Oh no. Oh yes. Oh Nikki Haley. Twitter exploded:
“OMG. She went there.”
“Is she TRYING to lose?”
“She invoked a trope used by racists everywhere.”
Haley said this in the context of talking to Erin about her Civil war gaffe.
“A practicing racist.”
“Girlfriend, you have truly hit rock bottom.”
“Hot damn, she’s a fool.”
There IS such a thing as subconsciously sabotaging oneself. Watching Haley, I wonder if that is what she’s doing. The only other thing that makes sense is that she really IS that clueless.
