Nikki Fried rips Ron DeSantis a new one

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis keeps trying to operate out of the Trump playbook. There are two problems with that. First, the Trump playbook is faulty enough that it’s landed Donald Trump out on his butt and waiting to be criminally indicted. Second, DeSantis is too clueless to even understand how the Trump playbook is supposed to work.

Take, for instance, Ron DeSantis’ decision to quietly but massively raise taxes on working class Floridians. Sure, this part of the corrupt agenda that wealthy conservative donors have put a Republican puppet like DeSantis in office to carry out. But Republican politicians are supposed to do this in a subtle enough way that the average voter doesn’t notice.

Instead, DeSantis has bungled this stunt so badly, even New Hampshire’s Republican Governor Chris Sununu is pointing out that DeSantis blew it. Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services, is ripping into DeSantis over it:

Meanwhile, all eyes are on Nikki Fried to see whether she runs against Ron DeSantis in the Florida 2022 race for Governor. Fried has pointed to an announcement of some kind on June 1st.
