Nice try Donald Trump
Donald Trump is supported by the “doom and gloom” crowd who love negativity. He never gives positive speeches. He’s typically insulting someone, making fun of the handicapped, or something else negative. His speech in Michigan followed suit. He told striking workers (the few who were there) that they are striking for nothing because electric vehicles are going to drive them out of jobs anyway. Specifically, Trump said that electric vehicles are “too expensive, aren’t capable of traveling far enough, and would spur job losses for America.” He encouraged those listening to “be loyal to American labor or you can be loyal to the environmental lunatics, but you can’t really be loyal to both.” Contrary to what Trump “preaches,” life is not an all or nothing proposition.
Compromise is a good thing. Options should be available to all. The only place where there is no compromise is with the environment. It is already showing signs of the damage we have caused over the years. What’s wrong with making changes to stop the continuing destruction so that the planet might be around for his grandchildren? Trump doesn’t care about anyone, including his children and grandchildren. The main thing is that Trump is wrong-again. According to studies, electric vehicles save money over time. Manufacturers will also need workers to build electric vehicles just as they needed them for gas-powered vehicles. They’re certainly not going to make themselves. There are many positive things Trump could have said, but he chose to focus on a negative that he doesn’t even really know about. That is typical Trump. Always running his mouth without bothering to research first. And people want this idiot back in office because?
Trump is a professional liar and deceiver. While he’s standing at a podium telling lies, President Biden was marching with the workers the day before. Hopefully, Trump won’t brag on his crowd size, since NBC News said there were “300 that only included a few of the striking workers.” That count likely included the fakers who were neither union nor work for the auto industry but were holding their signs. It is no surprise that Trump attracts other liars.
Even as Trump begged the crowd to call United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain and ask him to support him, Fain had already told NBC News that he has no use for Donald Trump. Fain said: “I find a pathetic irony that the former president is going to hold a rally for union members at a nonunion business. . . . [H]is track record speaks for itself.” Fain is a man with a long memory. He talked about the 2008 recession and how Trump blamed the UAW for everything that went wrong. Fain also mentioned the General Motors strike in 2019 and asked: “Where was he then? I didn’t see him hold a rally. I didn’t see him stand up at the picket line, and I sure as hell didn’t hear him comment about it.” If only more people would speak the truth when it comes to Donald Trump. If they did, there would be far fewer supporting him.
