Donald Trump heads back to New York City to deal with even more legal troubles
Just last week Donald Trump had to travel to New York City for his arrest and arraignment on thirty-four felony charges. Even as he awaits criminal trial in New York, and awaits criminal indictments in multiple other jurisdictions, ABC News says that Trump is already having to travel back to New York for even more legal troubles.
Trump will travel to New York City to testify on Thursday in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ case against the Trump Organization. This is technically a civil case, where the penalties are financial in nature. But given that James is seeking $250 million in penalties against the already collapsing Trump Organization, this would essentially be the end of the company if she wins.
It’s also important to keep in mind that Trump can’t just move all his money out of the Trump Organization and bankrupt it before the state can get ahold of its assets. New York has already caught Trump trying to shift assets to a new company called – we’re not making this up – Trump Organization II. But this kind of thing doesn’t fly.
This civil trial against the Trump Organization, which is set to take place later this year, is yet another instance of Donald Trump finally being held accountable by the legal system. There’s also his Manhattan criminal trial, his E. Jean Carroll civil trial, his upcoming Fulton County indictment, his upcoming DOJ classified documents indictment, and his upcoming DOJ election overthrow indictment. We’d sarcastically wish him luck, but he’s going to need a lot more than luck going forward.Donald Trump heads back to New York City to deal with even more legal troubles
