New York Attorney General Tish James is making a “major national announcement” – and Donald Trump should be worried
New York Attorney General Tish James just informed the media that she’ll be making a “major national announcement” tomorrow morning at the office of the New York Attorney. Considering the timing of what’s been playing out this evening, Donald Trump should be worried.
To be clear, James could be announcing any number of things. But she’s significantly arrowing the realm of possibilities by saying that it’s a “national” announcement, because a State Attorney General doesn’t usually make national announcements. This raises at least the possibility that she’s announcing something in relation to the criminal case that the Manhattan District Attorney is pursuing against Donald Trump, which was revealed in a court filing last week.
For that matter, James’ press release was sent out this evening just as the New York Times was reporting that the Manhattan DA obtained Donald Trump’s financial records from Deutsche Bank awhile back – meaning that by now the grand jury has certainly been presented with evidence of Trump’s financial crimes.
That doesn’t mean we can necessarily expect Tish James to announce tomorrow morning that Donald Trump has been criminally indicted. All we know for sure is that the grand jury is targeting Donald Trump for indictment; we have no indication of how far along that process is, or how close it is to completion.But suffice it to say that Trump should be feeling nervous over whatever is about to go down tomorrow.
