New York AG Tish James scores huge victory over the NRA

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The day the National Rifle Association filed for bankruptcy and announced it was moving to Texas, Palmer Report predicted that New York Attorney General Tish James would successfully block the move in court. Sure enough, that happened today.

When Donald Trump tried to shut down the Trump Foundation years ago to upend a New York AG probe, the courts ruled that the AG had the authority to block such a move. So the precedent was clear when it came to today’s NRA ruling.

Tish James tweeted this in response to the ruling: “A judge has ruled in our favor and rejected the NRA’s attempt to claim bankruptcy and reorganize in Texas. The NRA does not get to dictate if and where it will answer for its actions, and our case will continue in New York court. No one is above the law.”
