New trouble for Donald Trump’s legal team
Things this week are going as good as possible for Donald Trump. In other words — things have been going horribly for him. Donald Trump seems to know it, too. Right now, he’s a sad and useless puddle, a nonentity; in other words — he’s powerless, aimless, and clueless.
That might be why Trump and his legal team are lashing out at Jack Smith, demanding Smith hand over a “comprehensive set of functional video stemming from security footage at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort.”
Trump’s legal team is making a specific request for what they deem as “workable video evidence.” They believe this footage will enable them to conduct a thorough investigation into the case, thereby uncovering what they consider to be the real truth! His Florida co-defendants are also involved in this.
They say they are missing “key clips.” Trump’s defense lawyers are also whining. They’re whining that all they have in the way of video is “unreliable video.” Unreliable to whom? It’s hard not to chuckle at this irony. Trump, it seems, is so consumed by his unending legal battles that he’s neglecting his political ambitions. He’s more focused on defending himself than on winning the 2024 election, a fact that’s both amusing and oh-so-telling.
Now, Smith’s team has provided an answer to the Trump team. In this answer, they say they HAVE “produced the CCTV FOOTAGE.” I doubt I am wrong to think this is just a stall tactic on the Trump side. Trump could have even egged them on to do this.
After all, Trump has had horrible week after horrible week lately, and the weeks are going to get MORE horrible particularly on the New York trial side. He certainly does not have much to look forward to as it relates to things improving.
