New trouble for Donald Trump nominee Pete Hegseth

Donald John Trump is a distorted, perverted version of the mythical King Midas. As King Midas desired everything he touched to turn to gold, so Donald Trump desires all cabinet picks to be lauded as bold.

He wants people to exclaim in wonder over his judgment calls and applaud approvingly at his picks. He sees them as wonderful, high-quality picks who will sail through their confirmation hearings as Greek God in ancient stories flew across the stars, one long kaleidoscope of thunderbolts and color.

Sorry, Charlie, that ain’t happening. In reality, Trump has nominated what this writer believes would be the worst presidential cabinet in the history of all cabinets. Accusations of sexual misconduct and sexual assault. Liars. Leches. And fools.

Unlike King Midas, Trump doesn’t get any second chances. This is his LAST presidential term, his farewell. As Trump revels in his delusional beliefs that his choices were good, more information is coming out about Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nomination for Defense Secretary.

“Unqualified.” More and more people are saying that he is unqualified. Illinois senator Tammy Ducksworth tore into him, ripping his comments about how women are not qualified for military combat.

The sexual assault allegation against him is also hovering in the air like a foul stench. Many are saying his confirmation process will not be smooth. Some say that since Gaetz withdrew his own nomination, Hegseth’s road to confirmation will be much more difficult.

The accusations against Hegseth are terrible. Some want to see the police report in full, and you can bet the steady drip-drip of this scandal is not helping his chances one bit. Of course, some of Trump’s picks WILL be confirmed, but this writer is not so sure about Hegseth. Not at all.

He has two strikes against him: his comments about women in the military and the sexual misconduct allegations. If he actually lasts until he gets a hearing, he will have to explain ALL of that.

He will NOT be able to get defensive and clam up—not in such a hearing as this. Democrats will not let him. If someone were betting on his getting confirmed, I’d venture to guess it would be under fifty percent about now.
