For weeks, various major media outlets have been reporting that Trump attorney Christina Bobb wasn’t actually familiar with the classified document situation at Mar-a-Lago when she signed a letter to the federal government falsely claiming that there were no more classified documents there. Then came the news that Bobb testified about this to the DOJ this week.

Now the New York Times is reporting today that right after Bobb was first added to Trump’s legal team, other existing members of Trump’s team made a point of pressuring her into being the one to sign the letter. If this reporting is accurate, it would mean that members of Trump’s team went out of their way to not only deceive the government, but also to set up Bobb as a “fall guy” in case things went wrong.

Of course Bobb would need to provide the DOJ with some evidence of this assertion. But if she can back up her claims, it would allow the DOJ to easily target other members of Trump’s team for felony obstruction, leaving them with the option of being criminally charged or flipping on Trump.

We’ll see how this plays out from here. Bobb has a long history of lying to the public when she worked for OANN. But would she be stupid enough to lie to the DOJ and try to frame her own colleagues? Such a lie would be a felony in its own right. The bottom line: somebody on Trump’s team is really screwed. And Trump is now represented by lawyers who are either testifying against him or trying to fend off criminal charges in their own right.
