New amicus brief in Michael Cohen’s case against Donald Trump and Bill Barr
The more details that surface regarding Michael Cohen’s re-arrest, the more it’s becoming clear that the Trump regime threw him back in prison specifically to try to stop the release of his tell-all book about Donald Trump. Earlier this week Cohen filed suit in federal court against Trump and Barr, seeking his release. Now he has some help.
The nonpartisan group Protect Democracy has filed an amicus brief on Michael Cohen’s behalf, arguing that the Trump regime is illegally targeting him over his book:
NEW: We filed an amicus brief in the #Cohen case on behalf of #FirstAmendment scholars, urging the Court to reject the govt's apparent effort to jail him to stop him from publishing a book about @realDonaldTrump. #FreeSpeech is our country's bedrock. #1A https://t.co/vAygBQ0jY5

Whether Michael Cohen is able to convince a judge to let him out of prison or not, we still expect his book to be published before the election. Cohen recently hinted that the book was on track for a September release date.
