Nancy Pelosi just told Mitch McConnell to shove it
The emergency coronavirus legislation that was passed this week was just a starting point. It was the best bipartisan deal that could be quickly negotiated, and while Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi worked to get it swiftly passed in the House, Mitch McConnell inexplicably dragged his feet before finally allowing it to be passed yesterday.
Now comes the hard part, where a more comprehensive and complicated stimulus package has to be negotiated. Mitch McConnell and the Republican Senate are insisting on taking the lead when it comes to this legislation. McConnell just sent over his proposal, and let’s just say that Pelosi is less than impressed:
.@SenSchumer & I are beginning to review Senator McConnell’s proposal and on first reading, it is not at all pro-worker and instead puts corporations way ahead of workers.

.
Speaker Pelosi clearly has no intention of letting Mitch McConnell get away with the corrupt pork barrel proposals he’s making. She’ll make her own counterproposal that’s in line with what working class Americans need in order to survive this crisis financially.
