House Republican Nancy Mace sinks to a whole new low

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When House Republican Nancy Mace first took office last month, there were a few minutes where she pretended to be reasonable. But then she voted against impeaching Trump, and voted to protect Marjorie Taylor Greene, all while dishonestly attacking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in particularly ugly fashion. Now it’s gotten even uglier.

Nancy Mace brought a lot of attention to herself – most of it negative, given how badly it went for her on Twitter – when she falsely accused AOC of lying about her location during the U.S. Capitol attack. It seemed an odd move for Mace to pick a fight that she was clearly going to lose. But now her motivation is becoming more clear.

Mace is now fundraising off her lies about AOC, as flagged by CNN fact checker Daniel Dale. In other words, this is about money. The Republican Party has spent the past two years making up one lie about AOC after another, so now Mace is trying to fund her reelection campaign by playing to those lies with the Republican Party’s increasingly unhinged base. This is nothing short of disgraceful.

Nancy Mace narrowly won her seat over a Democrat by just one point in November. We intend to make sure she loses that seat in 2022. She’s clearly unfit for office.
