George Washington and Mr. Kurd: Donald Trump is in need of immediate medical attention

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

How do we even begin to sum up the most deranged eighty minutes of Donald Trump’s deranged existence? He went on a random rant about George Washington that was so incoherent, there was debate afterward as to whether Trump was defending him or attacking him. At another point Trump referred to a Kurdish reporter as “Mr. Kurd” โ€“ one of the most horrifying things any U.S. President has ever said โ€“ and yet it’s in danger of being overshadowed by the other deranged things he said.

In a clear sign that Donald Trump knew the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination was in trouble, he went out and spent eighty minutes desperately trying to change the subject by any means possible. In a sign that Trump’s handlers know how much trouble the nomination is in, they sent Trump out there to face reporters today, knowing that he’s mostly senile.

If Trump’s goal was to change the subject, he may have partly succeeded โ€“ but not how he was hoping. The media is still heavily covering the worsening Brett Kavanaugh sexual assault and rape scandals, but now the media is also covering the fact that the “President” of the United States is clinically and dangerously insane. In any case, perhaps the most revealing part of Trump’s press conference was his insistence that he’ll consider pulling the Kavanaugh nomination tomorrow, depending on how the testimony goes. That’s probably not something he should have said out loud, but then again, Trump is so far gone that he no longer has any filter.

By the time the eighty minute debacle was over, the terms “George Washington” and “Mr. Kurd” and “25th Amendment Now” were all trending on Twitter. If that doesn’t sum it up, nothing does. This man is in need of immediate medical attention
