More Trump-Russia raids coming in the next week

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Monday’s FBI raid of the office and residence of Donald Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen was one of the most stunning developments yet in the Trump-Russia scandal and investigation. As Palmer Report has explained, the raid was given its blessing by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and wouldn’t have happened otherwise, so this is very much about Trump-Russia. Now we’re getting word that more raids are coming in the next week.

The Cohen raid was partially an attempt at obtaining evidence relating to Cohen’s $130,000 payoff to Stormy Daniels during the election. That means Daniels and her attorney Michael Avenatti are in as good a position as anyone to know where this is headed next. Avenatti has painted himself as a knowledgeable straight shooter as attorneys go. So when he announced on CNN on Wednesday that more such raids are coming in the next week, there’s good reason to believe him.

That’s not to say that Avenatti knows precisely who is getting raided next, or on precisely what day. It’s difficult to imagine anyone involved, from the FBI to the U.S. Attorney’s Office to the Robert Mueller team, giving this information to Avenatti in precise detail. The entire point of a raid is to catch the person off guard before any defensive moves, such as destroying evidence, can take place. But based on Mueller’s other moves in the past week, it’s not difficult to figure out where he’s aiming his bulldozer next.

A few days before the Michael Cohen raid happened, Robert Mueller’s team began serving subpoenas to various Donald Trump business associates, and asking them questions about Cohen. That suggests the next FBI raids may be of other less trustable Trump business associates who weren’t given the courtesy of a subpoena. For Avenatti to have any knowledge of it, these next raids must be of Trump associates who were involved in payoffs during the election. In other words, buckle up, because the next week is about to get even bigger.
