The state of Texas has, along with their buddy Florida, started to look like a third-world country. This is because of the archaic and backwoods legislation introduced by its crazed governor, Greg Abbott.

As you know, one of those pieces of legislation made it OK in Texas for Texans to become bounty hunters reporting anyone who has an abortion and even those that aid in helping those people.

But now five women are fed up. And they are suing the state of Texas. It’s about time! It is about time this happened, and now it is. These women claim the bizarre laws in Texas prevented them from having abortions even though there were life-threatening circumstances involved.

This legislation is over 90 pages long and tells the court that the law has caused women “catastrophic harm.” One of the ladies who are part of this litigation is Amanda Zurawski. And she spoke to NBC News about the case.

Amanda explained that when she was pregnant, she developed sepsis which is a life-threatening condition. Before that, she had tried unsuccessfully to obtain medical help, but nobody would give it due to the Texas abortion ban.

“Because of the law, I very nearly died,” she said. “Nothing about this is pro-life.” No, it is not. What it IS, is pro-hate. It takes guts to do this. These women have a lot of courage, and we wish them luck with this lawsuit. And there is one other thing to ponder.

In Florida right now, republicans are seeking a ban on all abortions after six weeks. You see, of course, that we were right. This was never really about Roe. It is about control, the containment of women, and taking away their rights. It is beyond cruel. It is primitive, part of a period that we thought we had long left behind.
