More bad news for Matt Gaetz
The words Matt Gaetz and drama go hand in hand. They’re best friends, and where one goes, so the other follows. And now there is more news on the hair gel aficionado. I wish I could say he’d been indicted, but that has not happened yet, although it likely soon will. However, there is news on Matt’s old buddy Joel Greenberg.
Greenberg’s lawyer has asked for yet another delay in sentencing. The sentencing date at present is March 29. Greenberg’s attorney explains that the cooperation between his client and the Feds is still ongoing.
Fritz Scheller, who is Greenberg’s attorney, also says that while he intends to file this motion seeking a delay, he would prefer this filing be sealed, away from public eyes. This is because, as Scheller explains, the extension filing contains “sensitive information” about investigations that are still very much alive. This request for confidentiality was granted. Hmm.
I find all of this very interesting indeed. What is this “confidential information?” Could it be about Gaetz? I would certainly not rule that possibility out. And to anyone frustrated with how long the investigation is taking — I get it. But one has to realize that these things take a great deal of time.
Michael Avenatti, who was recently found guilty of defrauding Stormy Daniels, ONLY JUST had his trial. Lady Justice usually moves slowly, but with Covid plus all the delays on Greenberg’s part, things have become much more complicated. Covid, in general, has complicated the Judicial process for many, and many things that were already moving slowly have slowed down even more.
In other Gaetz news, Mattie went on maniac Steve Bannon’s dreadful podcast to explain how deeply disappointed he is in Mike Pence for doing the right thing on January 6. This news should not surprise anyone who follows Gaetz at all since you can always count on Gaetz to be on the wrong side of history.
