More bad news for Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Have you ever read the book “The trial” by Franz Kafka? In it, a man battles for his very life because he goes to trial for unnamed things. He has no idea what he did because the crimes are never revealed to him, and it is widely considered one of the best books ever written. Donald Trump would like you to believe that he’s like this man in Kafka’s book.

He’d have us believe that he’s being persecuted by unknown deep-state people, for abstract crimes, all unknown to him. That he’s an innocent being, struggling for his life and sanity. It’s an image that can’t hold unfortunately, because Donald Trump is a traitor and an insurrectionist, and it’s very easy for the American people — most of them, to see that.

But still, Trump tries his old standby tricks and cons. Only one of them didn’t work. Judge Cannon has announced the trial dat, and it’s not after the 2024 election. Poor, poor little Donald Trump. Another scheme unraveled, another plot that did not work.

Instead Judge Cannon has decided the trial will start in May of 2024. May 20, to be exact. That’s actually a pretty good date as that will put the trial squarely into the primary process. The Republicans may well have picked the nominee by the time Trump goes to trial. Then again, they may not have.

One can guarantee that there will be a late night meltdown about this over the weekend. Trump can’t be a happy person right now. I am positive that he thought he was going to get away with it and he would get the trial date either suspended or set for after the election.

This did not come to pass. By the time the election does come around, Trump could be in jail. Of course he might try to run from the clink. What do you think his campaign message would be? I wonder when Trump was in high school if he was ever voted in the yearbook most likely to commit an insurrection. I doubt it, but it did come to pass.

This won’t be Trump’s only trial. Let us not forget the merry indictments to come. I doubt Cannon’s trial will even be the first one, maybe not even the second on. So yes, I think it’s fair to say this is going to put a dent in all of Trump’s big plans. What on earth will the traitor do next? Stay tuned.
