Mired in their own stupidity
History will remember Republicans, and it won’t be positive. They are doing nothing they should be doing and absolutely everything they shouldn’t. They have impeached Alejandro Mayorkas, which has nothing to do with anything. They should be expending their efforts on things that are positive for the country-like passing the bipartisan border legislature-instead of playing games. There was no legitimate reason to impeach Mayorkas, and it’s not getting past the Senate. The only way they even passed the impeachment was Steve Scalise’s return from sick leave. The same three Republicans who voted against it before remained against it. This country has so many more important issues to address than partisanship stupidity. This all centers around the border and immigration, something the Republicans have refused to pass while claiming to want it. If only they realized how bad they are looking to the rest of the country.
Senate Republicans are not happy. The House-at the prodding of Mike Johnson-killed a bipartisan bill that would have greatly assisted problems at the border. It was proposed that international funding move forward without border legislation. Now, Mike Johnson claims that funding cannot go forward without an agreement on the border. He must be drunk. According to the Hill, the White House said Johnson is “in a dizzying tailspin.” Yeah, like a drunk, but the White House perfectly laid out the situation: “For months, Speaker Johnson demanded that Ukraine legislation include border security, but when given the toughest, fairest bipartisan border bill in decades, he killed it-siding with Donald Trump and fentanyl traffickers over Joe Biden and the Border Patrol Union.” Johnson continues to show that he is unfit for public office, let alone the speakership. He’s not concerned about the American people; his concern is Donald Trump. Who kills legislation by arguing against the very thing he killed last week? Johnson’s senate colleagues are not happy.
Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) seemed confused by Johnson’s actions: “I don’t know why he has to comment on it at all. There’s this process where we pass things and send it over, and they pass things and send it over. Then, you take it up.” He called Johnson’s behavior “bad form” and “disrespectful.” He then spoke the truth: “This is not a partisan issue for us. It is for them because everything is for them.” Therein lies the problem in the House. They are not serving the American people. They are serving Donald Trump, which will prove to be a waste of time.
When SCOTUS ordered Jack Smith to file a response to Trump’s request to delay his election interference trial, Chief Judge John Roberts immediately ordered Smith to file a response by February 20. Jack Smith has been investigating Trump for a very long time, and he has a good idea of who he is. More importantly, he is aware of Trump’s tactics. As a result, he filed his response on February 14. This is not going to turn out well for Trump, and his Republican enablers will pay the price, which will benefit the citizens of the U.S.
