Turns out it’s a military stunt after all

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier this evening, Donald Trump tweeted “Something very big has just happened!” Moore than an hour and a half later, he still hasn’t bothered to explain what he’s talking about. But based on reports that are emerging tonight, it appears to be related to a military stunt that he’s about to try to take credit for.

Newsweek is reporting late tonight that Trump signed off on a military raid in northern Syria against ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and that he’s been potentially been captured or killed. This is somewhat difficult to believe, considering that for the past several years it’s been generally accepted that he’s already long dead.

Now, with Donald Trump’s dying presidency near its end, Baghdadi has suddenly come back to life out of nowhere just so he could be captured or killed in a raid that Trump just happened to order at the perfect time to breathe an ounce of life back into his terminally ill presidency.

In any case, Donald Trump is supposedly going to make an announcement about it in the morning. Anything that Trump announces should be taken with a metric ton of salt. First, he’s consistent liar. Second, Baghdadi is believed to have died years ago. Third, the timing is all too convenient. In any case, a stunt like this – even if it turns out to be true – isn’t going to magically save Trump’s presidency.
