Looks like Mike Pence is trying to get out of debating Kamala Harris

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Yesterday the debate commission announced that both sides had agreed to a plexiglass shield between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence, which seems reasonable considering half the White House has been infected with coronavirus, and Pence could be contagious. But now, apparently, Pence has suddenly changed his mind.

Mike Pence and his team have informed the debate commission today that they are now opposed to the plexiglass shield. This stands out as suspicious. If Pence was merely worried about the bad optics of being hidden behind plexiglass, and the reminder it serves that the Trump regime is a coronavirus hotspot, he would have stood opposed to the plexiglass all along. But agreeing to it yesterday, and then trying to change his mind today, suggests something else.

It sounds like Mike Pence is suddenly trying to find an excuse for calling off the debate. This could be because Pence secretly has coronavirus and it’s taken a turn for the worse. Or it could be that Donald Trump, who is now out of the hospital and making increasingly bizarre decisions, has suddenly decided that he doesn’t want Pence stealing the spotlight.

In any case, something is afoot. It’s anyone’s guess as to whether the debate ends up happening tomorrow night. It’s also anyone’s guess as to whether Mike Pence has coronavirus. He keeps insisting that he’s been testing negative, but at this point there’s no reason to believe a word he says.
