Mike Pence reemerges from hiding and heads to The Villages amid more controversy

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

After Mike Pence showed up to the VP debate on Wednesday with what appeared to pink eye, he announced on Thursday that he was canceling his Friday campaign events. This set off widespread suspicion that he had coronavirus, and that he was going into hiding until his symptoms were no longer visible.

Now Pence has reemerged today, announcing an hour ago that his flight from Washington DC to Florida had just taken off. That’s right, after all that back there, Pence is suddenly holding in-person campaign events today, and he apparently intends to provide no explanation for why he sported a coronavirus symptom and then went into hiding for a full day.

We’ll be watching to see if Mike Pence still has any sign of pink eye, and whether he looks ill in general. We’ll also be looking to see if Pence takes questions from reporters or if he dodges the press. The first question should be why he canceled events and disappeared yesterday. Pence can’t just get away with not telling us what he’s been hiding from us.

Meanwhile, one of Mike Pence’s planned campaign stops today is The Villages, a retirement community in Florida that’s traditionally leaned heavily Republican, and was largely pro-Trump in 2016. Now the AP is reporting that there is a huge pro-Biden movement under way in The Villages. No wonder Trump is sending Pence there. We wonder what kind of reception Pence will get from protesters.
