The real reason Mike Pence is suddenly flipping out about President Obama

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Over the past several months, Mike Pence has done everything he could to stay out of the public view. This strategy to stay hidden made sense if his true goal is to survive Donald Trump’s ouster and to ultimately claim the presidency. As Palmer Report has documented, Pence’s power-grab plan will never come to fruition, and he will certainly face proper justice for his role in Trump-Russia treason.

While Pence was able to remain in the shadows for a while, the anonymous New York Times op-ed finally ended his game of hide-and-seek. After being caught telling blatant lies to appease Trump, it appears Pence is even more scared of someone else. While Pence makes it appear in public that he fears and capitulates to Trump, this is just a ruse to make Trump think he really is as subservient as he acts. The truth is Pence is likely only afraid of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Pence’s role in the campaign and transition period – or so we thought.

It turns out that Pence is extremely frightened by the prospect of President Barack Obama returning to the political landscape to help Democrats win back power in the House. If the House turns blue, and power lands in the hands of Democrats for the first time since 2010, Rep. Adam Schiff will be in charge of the powerful House Intelligence Committee. Previously curtailed by Republicans, Democrats could use their newfound subpoena power to actually investigate the depth of treason that Pence and Trump committed, and this knowledge terrifies them.

To appease Trump, Pence gave multiple interviews over the weekend to further insist he did not pen the anonymous op-ed. During an interview on “Fox News Sunday” with Chris Wallace, Pence went out of his way to attack Obama, saying “It was very disappointing to see President Obama break with the tradition of former presidents, and become so political and roll out the same tired argument that he and liberals have made over the last eight years.”

Immediately after leaving office, President Obama had stated that he hoped to avoid politics following his time as president, but everything changed once it was evident that Donald Trump had attacked America’s democracy. By campaigning for Democrats in tight races, Obama hopes to help flip the House to ensure there is a legitimate check on the powers and actions of Trump. By winning in the House, Democrats will not only be able to reign in Trump, but also complete the investigation into all of his crimes, and that scares Pence more than anything else.
