Last night we brought you the story of how Mike Pence was lying to the American public about the testing rates in Oklahoma, in an effort to make Donald Trump’s Tulsa rally sound safer than it is. He claimed that the curve had been flattened, when in reality the state is suffering from a record number of cases. Now Pence has been caught in a much more comprehensive lie.

When Mike Pence held a conference call with the governors yesterday, he tried to convince them to sell the public on the lie that the number of coronavirus cases is only going up because testing has increased, and that the record setting numbers of new cases in various states are some kind of myth. This is according to a surreal report from the New York Times today.

We’re not surprised that Mike Pence tried to get the governors to lie about the coronavirus. Pence has proven himself to be every bit as consistently dishonest as Donald Trump. It is somewhat surprising that Pence was brazen enough to do this on a conference call. He should have known that some of these governors wouldn’t go along with it and would instead tell the media about it – which is precisely what appears to have ended up happening.
