Mike Pence cuts and runs

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The President of the United States has been hospitalized with a deadly plague and is currently on his third experimental drug treatment. His condition is dire enough that his doctors are scrambling to cover up the severity of his illness. Even as this plays out, the Vice President โ€“ who was also exposed to the plague โ€“ has completely disappeared.

Apart from a single tweet wishing Donald Trump well after his initial coronavirus diagnosis, Mike Pence has gone silent. He hasn’t addressed the nation. He simply has nothing to say. He has no desire to reassure the American people that someone in the chain of command is still upright and healthy.

So is Pence laying low because he’s afraid of stepping on a fragile Donald Trump’s toes while he’s in the hospital, or is Pence trying to cover up his own coronavirus illness? Considering the lack of transparency and rampant dishonesty coming out of this administration, it’s only fair to ask.

What’s remarkable is that Pence is still scheduled to show up and debate Kamala Harris this Wednesday โ€“ even as Pence effectively remains underground during an executive crisis. Will there even be a debate? At this rate Mike Pence has decided to cut and run at a time when America deserves to know what kind of shape he’s in, and we want to know why.
