Mike Bloomberg just scored a big win over Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Mike Bloomberg has decided that he’s going to do whatever is necessary to take Donald Trump down. We’ve seen Bloomberg run tons of television ads exposing Trump’s scandals and crimes. We’re seeing Bloomberg line up his efforts behind presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden. Now Bloomberg has scored a clear victory over Trump.

Donald Trump’s Senate Republican allies announced last week that they were sending out subpoenas in relation to the phony Hunter Biden scandal that Trump cooked up. This nonsense wasn’t going to help Trump any, because everyone outside Trump’s base already gets that this is the phony scandal Trump got himself impeached over while trying to cook up. But the GOP Senate was going to push forward with it anyway, because Trump really has no other shot in November.

The thing is, once the Republican Senate began moving on this, Mike Bloomberg’s political adviser Tim O’Brien let it be known that Bloomberg was planning to go “scorched earth” in terms of exposing the criminal scandals of Donald Trump’s kids. Sure enough, what do you know, the Republican Senate is now suddenly putting off the subpoena vote.

Some observers think this is happening because of the coronavirus crisis. But come on. Donald Trump and the GOP Senate would love to be able to use the phony Hunter Biden scandal right now to try to distract everyone from Trump’s disastrous handling of the crisis. There’s only one plausible reason for why they’re suddenly pulling back on this: Trump is worried about what Bloomberg is going to do to his kids. Score one for Bloomberg.
