Mike Bloomberg comes out swinging at the increasingly deranged “Bernie or Bust” crowd

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last night Palmer Report documented several notable recent instances of Bernie Sanders supporters and surrogates – and in some instances Bernie’s own campaign advisers – stalking and harassing people in increasingly deranged fashion for not being a part of their cult. During this holiday weekend we’re finally seeing an inflection point on social media, in which a wide swath of people are finally deciding to call out the “Bernie or Bust” goons for their antics. It’s forcing everyone who has turned a blind eye to this problem to finally acknowledge that it exists.

Now that the issue is being forced, this creates two quandaries. If you’re a reasonable Bernie supporter and you plan to support the eventual Democratic nominee, but you see the “Bernie Bro” crowd resorting to increasingly psychotic behavior toward other Democratic candidates, at what point do you decide that the Bernie movement has stopped being about progressive change? And if you’re Bernie Sanders, at what point do you try to salvage your movement by disavowing the “Bernie or Bust” loons? Mike Bloomberg has put together a video which documents the worsening lunacy:

Yes, Mike Bloomberg has his own problems as a candidate. But for those of us who have had to sit and watch Bernie Sanders fully devolve over the past four years from a righteous candidate encouraging progressive ideas, to a bitter candidate who tacitly encourages the worst of his supporters to act in deranged fashion, Bloomberg’s video perfectly encapsulates what’s gone wrong with the Bernie movement. Again, there’s still time to climb off the Bernie train, if this kind of psychotic behavior isn’t what you originally signed up for. No one can move the country in a progressive direction by using regressive tactics.
