Desperate Donald Trump is resorting to having people’s microphones cut off

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When PBS News Hour reporter Yamiche Alcindor asked Donald Trump a tough question today that he didn’t like, he insisted it was a “nasty question” and then went out of his way to avoid properly answering it. It was somewhat surprising that Alcindor didn’t interject with a followup question when Trump tried to move on to another reporter. Now we know why.

Yamiche Alcindor appeared on MSNBC tonight and told host Joy Reid that once Donald Trump reacted negatively to her question, her microphone was immediately cut off. In other words, she was trying to ask a followup question, but none of us could hear her. That’s not just coming from her, either:

.

So now we know that Donald Trump and his handlers are so desperate, so flailing, so out of ideas for how to handle any of this, they’re resorting to cutting off reporters’ microphones so that Trump can dodge the questions he doesn’t like. This is beyond the pale, yet not unexpected.
