Trump stooge Mick Mulvaney just made the USS John McCain scandal even worse

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Yesterday, Donald Trump’s already-humiliating USS John McCain scandal got even uglier when the U.S. Navy announced that someone outside the Navy (translation: the Trump White House) had requested that the ship be physically relocated out of Trump’s sight. This took some scrutiny off the Navy for having placed a tarp over McCain’s name, and placed the focus of the scandal back on the Trump regime. So naturally, the Trump regime decided to make things even worse today.

Donald Trump’s acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney – whose title gives away that no one wants the job on a permanent basis, including Mulvaney himself – appeared on Meet The Press this morning and addressed the USS John McCain situation. Instead of trying to downplay the scandal, or even downplay the Trump White House’s role in it, Mulvaney decided to speak to an audience of one.

Mulvaney admitted on-air this morning that the Trump White House did indeed ask to have the USS John McCain moved, saying “We all know how the president feels about the former Senator … That’s not an unreasonable thing to ask.” This is the worst answer that Mulvaney could have given, as it highlights that Trump is a psychologically fragile and infantile tyrant who’s so far gone, even his own handlers know that something as small as seeing a name on a ship could trigger the psychotic break that finally finishes him off. But it’s surely the answer that Trump wanted to hear Mulvaney say on television.

By any reasonable measure, this scandal alone should be enough to take down an administration. It proves that Donald Trump isn’t within a million nautical miles of being mentally fit for office. It also proves that his White House is an out of control joke whose only purpose is to cater to Trump’s every deranged whim. Whether it be by impeachment, the 25th Amendment, or resignation under pressure, Trump needs to go. Now.
