Michael Flynn goes completely off the deep end

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Michael Flynn desperately wants to go to prison for as long as possible. That’s the only logical conclusion at this point. He had a plea deal that would have given him little or no prison time, but he gave up on it and instead hired an attorney whose only goal is to make a mockery of the legal proceedings against Flynn. Now, Flynn and his lawyer have gone completely off the deep end.

The House Intelligence Committee has subpoenaed Michael Flynn to turn over evidence and publicly testify about his role in Donald Trump’s scandals later this month. But don’t count on that happening as scheduled, because Flynn and his new lawyer are simply ignoring the whole thing. According to the Washington Post, Flynn’s attorney, who is presumably trying to get disbarred and/or arrested for contempt, spent a week refusing to even accept the subpoena. But it gets even stupider.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is now vowing to enforce the subpoena. He hasn’t spelled out what that means, but we think he’s referring to taking this into court, where Flynn’s lawyer actually will get arrested if she continues these antics. As for Flynn, these antics are almost certainly lengthening the prison sentence he’ll receive once his plea deal is officially thrown out.

Sure, Michael Flynn could be counting on Donald Trump to magically pardon him. But if that’s the case, then Flynn is even more mentally deranged than we thought. Thus far Trump hasn’t pardoned a single one of his alleged co-conspirators, presumably because he doesn’t want to risk triggering a court ruling striking down such pardons, which could then prevent him from being able to try pardoning his family on his way out the door. If Flynn doesn’t get his head out of his backside soon, he’s going to prison for a long time.
