Merrick Garland’s day in the sun

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“Naive.” “Idealistic.” “Insane.” These are just a few of the names I — and many others — who believed in Attorney General Merrick Garland were called. We were labeled as being in complete denial — as not knowing our way politically.

Not by you. Palmer Report readers are intellectually savvy. I’ve seen enough comments to know that. And even the few readers who did not believe in Garland admitted they were wrong. This shows humility.

But some on social media were not so kind. They labeled other writers as well as myself. They labeled Palmer Report. Boy — we showed them, didn’t we? And that is why, as talk of violence swirls, as people continue to worry about Trump’s fate, I do not worry — at least not much. Because I trust Merrick Garland.

It may sound simplistic, but it isn’t. It’s looking at someone’s past — and judging their future actions. Of course, people change. But the past can be a pretty good indicator of the future. Merrick Garland is incorruptible. He’s smart. His record of conviction is astonishingly accurate. It’s all in his past.

He is exactly who we need. I do not worry because I know Garland — not personally, but I know his level of competence. And I know Donald Trump is no match for him. Garland is not just smart — he’s brilliant. There is nobody better to take on Trump.

And that is why as we go forward and Trump’s misery grows, I do not worry. And neither should you because we have the best of the best representing America’s interests. And Merrick Garland will not let us down. You can take that one to the bank.
