Donald Trump is melting down like a maniac during his latest disastrous press conference

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Now that Donald Trump’s friend and ally Boris Johnson is in the ICU due to coronavirus symptoms, you’d think just maybe Trump would start to take this crisis seriously. During the first several moments of his press briefing today, Trump stuck to the script and said conciliatory things about Johnson. But then he opened it up to questions, and things quickly went straight down the drain.

One reporter asked Donald Trump about a new HHS Inspector General report showing that there aren’t nearly enough coronavirus tests to go around. Trump snapped: “Did I hear the word Inspector General? Really?” This was an obvious reference to Trump’s decision to illegally fire the Intel Community Inspector General over the weekend. Trump then said “Give me the name of the Inspector General.” In other words, Trump appears to have no idea that there is more than one Inspector General, and that each agency generally has its own IG.

Trump was then asked about the Prime Minister of India’s decision not to export hydroxychloroquine to the United States. Trump said that he hadn’t heard about it. Just how clueless is Trump about these kinds of developments?

But the truly ugly part came when a reporter asked Trump about the serious failures of the new small business loan program. Trump demanded that the reporter begin her question with the phrase “It’s gotten off to a tremendous start,” which she refused to do. This is disaster.
