Donald Trump gives something away during his meltdown about Omarosa
Omarosa released another secret recording this morning, and this time Donald Trump was on it. In the recorded phone call, Trump claimed he had no idea that John Kelly had fired Omarosa, meaning that Trump is either a liar who’s unwilling to take responsibility for these kinds of things, or a buffoon who’s unaware of what his own top people are doing. Either way, it was clear that Trump would respond explosively – and he did. He also gave something away.
For reference, here’s the rant that Donald Trump tweeted about Omarosa this morning: “Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time. She never made it, never will. She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok. People in the White House hated her. She was vicious, but not smart. I would rarely see her but heard really bad things. Nasty to people & would constantly miss meetings & work. When Gen. Kelly came on board he told me she was a loser & nothing but problems. I told him to try working it out, if possible, because she only said GREAT things about me – until she got fired!” Clearly, there are a number of problems here.
First and foremost, Trump is admitting that he hired Omarosa to a White House senior adviser position as a personal favor to her, even though he considered her to be unqualified and unsavory. That alone represents corruption on an impeachable level. Then Trump goes on to claim that one of his own senior advisers wasn’t even bothering to show up to work for a year and a half, and that he didn’t know about it until someone else pointed it out to him. This is a whole new level of oblivious incompetence for him.
Finally, Donald Trump is admitting that after he was made aware that Omarosa wasn’t properly doing the job and wasn’t even showing up for work, he considered keeping her on the job anyway, because she was saying “great things” about him. In addition to everything else that’s profoundly wrong with this guy, he is the world’s most incompetent employer.
