Donald Trump has deranged meltdown about President Obama
Today we saw the return of President Barack Obama to the political fray, as he used his speech at the University of Illinois to directly criticize Donald Trump, while encouraging people to vote for the Democrats in the November election. Obama’s speech is being widely praised, and it’s led to a few questions: when and how would Trump retaliate, and how stupidly would he do so? We just got the answer.
We don’t know what kind of cognitive or psychological condition Donald Trump is in right now, after his jarring speech last night which saw him slurring his words while comically and repeatedly mispronouncing the word “anonymous.” But Trump – or whichever handler might be doing his tweets tonight – is now having a rather strange meltdown about President Obama. In the span of a few minutes, Trump’s Twitter feed turned into an obsession about Obama that was nothing short of bizarre.
Notably, Trump’s Twitter meltdown about Obama took place entirely in the form of retweets of the most deranged of pro-Trump “journalists” out there. First, Trump (through these retweets) falsely accused Obama of having tried to shut Fox News down. Then came the assertion that Trump is more anti-Nazi than recent past U.S. Presidents. Then came the most disgusting retweet of all, this time of a tweet posted by disgraced former Fox News personality Eric Bolling.
Bolling tweeted that “Watching Barack Obama take credit for Donald Trump’s successes is disgraceful.” He then listed off a number of Obama’s accomplishments, while falsely crediting them to Trump. The only two accomplishments credited to Obama: “Slick Speaking” and “School Shootings.” Again, Donald Trump retweeted this. Trump is now claiming that Obama is responsible for school shootings, even though some of the worst – such as in Parkland – have taken place on Trump’s watch. This isn’t just deranged, it’s psychotic.
