Donald Trump has late night meltdown after firing Andrew McCabe

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump finally got what he wanted tonight: he managed to push Attorney General Jeff Sessions into firing FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, one day before McCabe could retire with a full pension. This move doesn’t help Trump in the slightest when it comes to his Trump-Russia scandal, and was seemingly only done out of spite over the fact that McCabe’s wife has barely-there tangential connections to Hillary Clinton. Even after the firing, Trump still wasn’t happy, exploding with rage on Twitter at McCabe and others.

Sometime around midnight, Trump posted this fully unhinged tweet: “Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI – A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!”

Best anyone can tell, there is no one in the FBI who is siding with Trump on this. In fact Trump has just set himself up for potential retribution from any FBI employees who might be in a position to leak dirt about his Trump-Russia scandal. But as Trump continues to further unravel, he seems to care more about winning these demented and pointless personal feuds than he does about salvaging his dying presidency or keeping himself out of prison.

Meanwhile, because Andrew McCabe is a witness in Donald Trump’s illegal firing of FBI Director James Comey, it looks like Donald Trump just set himself up for even more criminal charges with respect to obstruction of justice and witness tampering. His tweet only paints himself as being even more guilty. Trump now seems to be too far gone psychologically to care.
