Melania Trump’s convention speech is a flaming disaster
Just how low was the bar set for Melania Trump’s 2020 Republican National Convention speech? The last time she gave a convention speech, she got caught plagiarizing it from Michelle Obama. Seemingly, all that Melania had to do this time around was not actually steal anyone else’s speech, and she’d be fine.
But Melania’s performance tonight was so God-awful, so utterly disturbing, it turns out she’d probably have been better off if she’d just plagiarized it. Melania spent her speech looking alarmed and worried, as if she were literally being held hostage. She had the gall to claim that she managed to become a U.S. citizen through hard work, when in reality she scammed her way into a visa and then she married a wealthy criminal.
The truly galling part is that Melania Trump appears to have mutilated the Rose Garden into something unrecognizable just so she could give this waste-of-oxygen speech. There are no words for how embarrassing it is that a piece of crap like Melania is somehow “First Lady” of the United States – and yet we’re not sure whether our first concern should be that she’s a disgusting fraud, or that she appeared to be very much afraid for her own well being tonight.
