Melania Trump’s top staffer abruptly quits

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“Be Best” has turned into “Be Unemployed.” Melania Trump’s top staffer, the one who crafted her ridiculous and widely mocked “Be Best” campaign, has abruptly resigned from the White House – in the latest sign of chaos, collapse, and the rats fleeing the sinking ship in the failing Trump White House. Remarkably, this particular staffer decided to head for the hills after just six months on the job, making the whole thing even more surreal.

All sides are publicly saying nice things about each other, as usually tends to be the case in these situations. However the staffer in question, Reagan Hedlund, is merely offering a generic explanation about wanting to return to foreign policy work. People don’t generally make a career change as big as this, and then decide to go back to their old job six months later, without a good reason.

Was it Melania’s still-unexplained month long disappearing act? Was is the “Be Best” flop? Was it Donald Trump’s worsening criminal scandals, and the increasing likelihood that he won’t be “president” for much longer anyway? Who knows. But this abrupt and poorly explained resignation of a relatively new senior staffer is part of a larger trend of personnel chaos for Team Trump.

Meanwhile, even as her staff flees for the exits, Melania Trump’s recent tweet reveals that she’s busy planning the White House Christmas party. This is despite the decreasing odds that Donald Trump and Melania Trump will still be in the White House by Christmas.
