Melania Trump allegedly met with Michael Cohen to plot against Stormy Daniels
Stormy Daniels and her attorney Michael Avenatti have filed a new lawsuit against Daniels’ former attorney Keith Davidson, accusing him of having plotted against her while he was representing her. The suit makes a number of accusations against Davidson, which the courts will have to sort out. But biggest detail in this story is Melania Trump’s alleged involvement with Michael Cohen’s plot against Daniels.
This new lawsuit asserts that Michael Cohen met with Melania Trump at Mar-a-Lago in March of this year in order to discuss how to discredit Stormy Daniels, according to a new Daily Beast report about the suit. Plotting to discredit someone is not a violation of the law in and of itself. But Cohen has committed several alleged crimes as part of his effort to silence and/or discredit Daniels. So now the question is whether Melania knew about these illegal efforts at the time she decided to begin plotting with Cohen.
We’ll need more details in order to figure out whether Melania or not is facing criminal liability for knowingly participating in Michael Cohen’s illegal conspiracy against Stormy Daniels. But if the allegations in this new Daniels lawsuit can be proven true, we now know that Melania was in fact caught up in the Trump-Cohen scandal. At the least, Melania is a witness against Michael Cohen – and while she can’t be compelled to testify against her spouse Donald Trump, she can be compelled to testify against Cohen.
This helps explain why, after a nearly month long disappearance, Melania Trump has suddenly reemerged – and why Donald Trump had a cartoonish meltdown today about her disappearance. Suddenly, they both need to try to distract the media and the public from this new revelation that Melania played an active role in Michael Cohen’s plot against Stormy Daniels.
