Melania Trump is even more pissed at Donald than we thought
In the weeks since the media revealed that Donald Trump had an affair in 2006 with adult film actress Stormy Daniels while his wife Melania Trump was pregnant, and then paid $130,000 to Daniels during the election to buy her silence, Melania has been sending clear signals that she’s had enough of Donald’s crap. Now it turns out she’s even more ticked off at him than we previously knew.
Melania will indeed be at the State of the Union address tonight. But that’s part of the problem. She’s already sent so many smoke signals about her displeasure and discomfort, her mere presence will be nearly as controversial as if she weren’t attending. She bailed on Trump’s trip to Switzerland at the last minute. She made unscheduled trips to the Holocaust Museum and to West Palm Beach while he was out of the country, seemingly just to make clear to the public that she didn’t actually have any scheduling issues. Two British newspapers say Melania was living out of a Washington DC hotel before Donald left town. But it gets even worse.
Now Melania is feeding her displeasure to the media – at least through her handlers. The New York Times is reporting that “few episodes have roiled the peace as much as the news surrounding Ms. Daniels. The reports of a payoff blindsided the first lady, who was furious with her husband, according to two people close to the couple” (link). Friends of a public figure don’t feed these kinds of things to the media, unless the public figure wants it out there. In other words, Melania decided to make sure the media began writing about her displeasure with him on the day of Donald’s State of the Union address.
Why does any of this matter? Donald Trump’s world is on fire right now. Special Counsel Robert Mueller is closing in. He’s resorting to increasingly desperate antics to try to fend off his political and criminal scandals. And now, on the day he’s trying to use the State of the Union to right a sinking ship, his wife is making sure the media runs negative headlines about his marriage. She’s even more pissed than we thought. And we doubt this is the last move she’ll make in that regard.
