Donald Trump has bizarre meltdown about Melania Trump
Donald Trump was supposed to be giving a speech last night in support of South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster’s reelection bid. In a sign of how distracted he is by his own distractions, and how far removed he is from reality and coherency, Trump’s speech instead centered around a bizarre meltdown about his wife Melania Trump.
Donald Trump chose to bypass Melania’s latest scandal, which saw her wearing a jacket that said “I really don’t care” while on her way to the border to visit with refugee children. In so doing, Melania completely screwed up what could have been a rare winning media cycle for her husband. Instead of trying to explain the jacket away, Donald circled back to Melania’s previous nearly month-long vanishing act. Why he chose to bring this up is anyone’s guess, but it didn’t exactly go well.
Trump claimed that Melania “had an operation a few weeks ago.” That’s not a remotely viable explanation for her disappearance, as various medical experts have said that the kidney procedure in question should have had a very short recovery time. He then ranted about the rumors that Melania was in hiding because she’d had a facelift, or because she’d moved back to New York City. After airing all this dirty laundry, Trump then insisted that Melania is a “private” person. In such case, why is he the one who’s still talking about her vanishing act?
Some will interpret Donald Trump’s latest meltdown as evidence that Melania Trump’s disappearance really was as suspicious as we all thought it was, or else he wouldn’t still be obsessed with it. Some will see this as Donald simply trying to spin yet another distraction. We see it as further evidence that what’s left of Trump’s brain is falling to pieces under the pressure. There is simply no coherent reason for him to have brought up an older Melania scandal during a rally of his own supporters.
