How the media totally blew the Robert Mueller – Jared Kushner interview

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

After Jared Kushner spent a surprising few months out of the headlines, his name has suddenly come back into focus for two big reasons. We learned yesterday that Kushner gave a multi-hour interview to Special Counsel Robert Mueller last month. We also learned yesterday that Kushner’s top level security clearance had just been reinstated. These two stories were obviously connected. Unfortunately, as I feared, most of the mainstream media connected them in entirely the wrong way.

Donald Trump’s White House tried to spin this as Kushner having gotten his security clearance back because Mueller had fully cleared him after the interview. Bzzt, wrong answer. Nice try. For starters, even if Mueller did clear Kushner, which is pretty obviously not the case given the mountain of evidence against him, Mueller wouldn’t just wave a magic wand and say “Okay, you can have your clearance back, Jared.” That’s not even Mueller’s department. It gets even more absurd.

E know that Mueller has been investigating the financial histories of every Trump-Russia player, and bringing criminal charges as appropriate. We’ve seen so much reported about Kushner taking money and loans from this or that bank, or this or that nation, we know that there’s clearly plenty for Mueller to be investigating. The major media outlets reporting on the interview have all said that it was focused solely on Kushner’s involvement with Trump and Russia during the election. This tells us that Kushner must have only agreed to the interview on the stipulation that he not be asked about his finances. As such, there’s no possible way that Kushner could have been cleared of all possible criminal charges as a result of the interview.

I was hoping the mainstream media would figure out what really happened here. Donald Trump learned that Jared Kushner gave a lengthy interview to Robert Mueller, and he panicked, quickly reinstating Kushner’s security clearance in the hope of convincing him not to cooperate with Mueller any further. But while there may be a few exceptions out there that I’ve missed, I can’t find any major media outlets who reported this story correctly. Unfortunately, they all simply stuck to the party line, as ridiculous as it was.
