Matt Gaetz just unwittingly did us a favor
Lately, there has been an increasing buzz, made worse by the media’s unyielding desire to cover this story as if it were real. This story is that Donald Trump will be the next House Speaker.
And the media is getting plenty of help with this non-story in the form of a certain person with rising hair and possible federal indictments waiting. This person is Matt Gaetz.
Gaetz (hair issues, insurrection party, hopefully, indicted soon) has all but done jumping jacks as he attempts to convince folks Trump will be the next House Speaker. I say — good! Let Gaetz say this. But let us not pretend it stands a chance of happening.
Trump will never be speaker because that would mean he had to work. Assolini does not like to work. We all know this. But I would appreciate the talk continuing, although I do wish the media would stop hyping the story quite as much as they have been. Why would I want it to continue? Because it will inspire and motivate Democrats. There really is not any better motivator than Trump AND his motley klan.
Gaetz has also said he and his monstrous minions will be running things soon. Right. I want commercials made of Gaetz, Greene, and Gosar — the three G’s. Think about it. Think about moderate, middle-of-the-road voters quietly minding their business, eating their dinners, with an eye on the television screen when these misfits come roaring into view.
It would be a motivation bonanza as these quiet folks would not believe what their eyes were seeing. Horror, I am sure, would be one of the first reactions. Do not forget that many people don’t follow politics on a daily or even a weekly basis, so many do not even know who Gosar — or Greene– or even Gaetz are. But do not worry about a speaker Trump. It won’t happen except perhaps in a parallel universe.
