You’ve heard the expression — don’t get mad, get even. Kevin McCarthy is getting even. Indeed, McCarthy has not STOPPED his revenge since leaving Congress and his beloved Speaker-ship It (this revenge) is aimed squarely at a hapless Matt Gaetz. A friend of Kevin’s is launching a run against Matt Gaetz in Congress.

The man’s name is Aaron Dimmock, and he filed the paperwork last Friday to take on the hair challenged Gaetz. It appears that Kevin’s quest for revenge will not be stopped. But whatever did Gaetz expect?

In my opinion, Matt Gaetz made an error. He came at the enemy, overconfident and perhaps thinking he was untouchable. In politics, absolutely nobody is untouchable, especially someone like Gaetz.

Even Colin Jost took a swing at Gaetz at the White House correspondents’ dinner. Gaetz may not have been indicted, but that does not mean he’s untouchable. It’s sort of like seeing a skunk lurking in your yard. You may not get sprayed this time, but that doesn’t mean the window of opportunity for these sprays has closed

This friend of Kevin’s’s has quite a colorful resume and is a former naval officer and aviator. Gaetz may have a real fight on his hands for this seat. The thing about politics is, it really IS a house of cards. And this house is ALWAYS rather rickety, capable of falling apart at any moment. The halls of Congress also are awash in many — SO many — so very many — Brutus’s who are constantly poised to betray, lash out at, and let down their so-called friends.

So yes, Gaetz made a mistake. He didn’t ask the fundamental question: “Et tu, Kevin?” Had he asked, the answer would have been a wildly smiling YES. That is bad news indeed for Matt Gaetz.
