Mary Trump scores major victory over Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If Donald Trump is going to stop the launch of his niece Mary Trump’s tell-all book, he’s going to have to find some other way to do it. The Trump family tried filing suit against Mary Trump, but it turns out the suit is so baseless, a judge has thrown it out of court already.

Ted Boutrous, the attorney representing Mary Trump in this case, had this to say: “The court has promptly and correctly held that it lacks jurisdiction to grant the Trump family’s baseless request to suppress a book of utmost public importance and concern. We hope this decision will end the matter. Democracy thrives on the free exchange of ideas, and neither this court nor any other has authority to violate the Constitution by imposing a prior restraint on core political speech.”

There are still roughly five weeks until the ship date, meaning Donald Trump and his family can try again with a different type of suit, or in a different venue. But it’s worth keeping in mind that this particular suit was his “Plan A” which means they thought it had the best chance of succeeding. Anything they try going forward will likely be an even lower percentage play.

Meanwhile Mary Trump’s new book is already at #1 in its category, and #4 overall, on the Amazon sales charts. This is all before Mary has even begun her inevitable media interview blitz and book tour.
