Donald Trump’s GOP Senate stooge Martha McSally is in trouble

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Republican Senator Martha McSally was always going to have a hard time getting reelected in 2020, considering she was never elected to begin with. She ran for Senate and lost in 2018, but because both of Arizona’s Senate seats just happened to be vacant at the same time, the state’s Republican Governor appointed her to the other seat.

Since the Democrats already beat Martha McSally the first time around, they were always going to have a good chance of beating her again. Those odds got even better for the Democrats when popular retired astronaut Mark Kelly, husband of beloved former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, became the Democratic candidate. Now things have gotten really ugly for McSally.

New polling this week from Univision/ASU says that Mark Kelly has opened a twelve point lead over Martha McSally in the Senate race. This comes after last week’s new OH Predictive Insights said that Kelly’s lead had grown from three points to seven points. What’s intriguing is that these same polls also show Joe Biden having a six to eight point lead over Donald Trump in Arizona – suggesting that Biden’s broad and soaring popularity could give downticket Democratic candidates in swing states a major advantage.

Martha McSally is in a deep hole, and she’s sinking. If the Democrats keep focused on this particular race and put in the work required, they can win it.
