Marsha Blackburn crashes and burns
Marsha, Marsha, Marsha! What does Senator Marsha Blackburn think she’s doing? I watched Blackburn perform for the camera at Judge Katanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearing.
Blackburn is, as are many others in the GOP, obsessed with pornography. She is also obsessed with CRT — Critical race theory.
Blackburn appears to be trying to make smarmy insinuations that Jackson “has a secret plan to bring Critical race theory to the Supreme Court.”
Blackburn came out and accused Jackson of having a “hidden agenda.”
“I can only wonder what your hidden agenda is. Is it to let child predators back to the streets? Is it to restrict parental rights and expand government into our schools?”
Sadly this is the republican playbook — the playbook of hate.
Do you know what came to mind watching Blackburn’s despicable performance? I thought of Sisyphus.
Sisyphus, for those that don’t know, was a king of a land now called Corinth.
He pissed off some of the Greek gods, and his punishment was being forced, for all eternity, to roll a huge rock, a boulder up a hill. If he could do that, he’d be immortal.
Only every time it was almost to the top — it rolled back down. It was an exercise in futility.
So is Blackburn’s hate rhetoric. This is just red meat designed to make her base and fellow haters love her. But her attacks will not work. Jackson’s going to be confirmed, and all the temper tantrums, racist rhetoric, all the garbage that pours from their tainted lips — nothing can change her inevitable confirmation.
Republicans have proven for a longtime now that they are the real snowflakes — the ones who cannot handle it when something happens they disagree with. Therefore I fully expect Blackburn especially, but others as well — to keep up their attacks up while attempting to convince people they’re NOT attacks.
And another thing — it is vital to understand another aspect of the playbook.
Whatever Republicans accuse Democrats of — they’re usually guilty of.
So, for example, if Blackburn accuses Democrats of having a hidden agenda — it is because REPUBLICANS have one.
This is their not-so-secret playbook. This is the rock they try to push up the hill every time. It is THEIR exercise in futility — and it will lead to their defeat.
