Marjorie Taylor Greene takes the loss

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It takes a lot to be booted from the Freedom Caucus. This faction of the Republican party is absolutely bonkers and has been since they began. And yet Marjorie Taylor Greene managed the impossible. She managed to get herself kicked out of the craziest of the crazy Republican factions.

The reason given for Greene’s ouster is that she started a fight with Lauren Boebert, calling her a little b####. Classy. Several Freedom Caucus members, both past and present, spoke out about Greene’s ouster. And they said Greene’s presence had become: “intolerable.”

“I can never remember anyone ever yelling at anyone in a freedom caucus meeting. Ever.” said one former member. Well — congratulations. Now, you CAN remember someone doing it. That person is Greene, who plays by nobody’s rules except her own.

But in the last few months, other resentments toward Greene have occurred. Some politicians were angry at what they saw as her continuing loyalty to Kevin McCarthy. After all, she did help him win the Speakership. And that caused much resentment.

The Freedom Caucus is also all about secrecy. They do not like when a member blabs about what they’re doing,.And they like it even less when a member starts fights on the House floor for no apparent reason.

Another former member questioned what Greene’s priorities are: “What’s important to MTG? I don’t know the answer to that question.”

I do. What’s essential to Greene is attention. She’s a rabble-rouser,, she thrives on attention. An audience is always close to her thoughts, and I imagine Greene is one of those people who’d love to have a reality show.

If Greene were a blinking neon sign, that sign would say, “Start recording.” The camera is her best friend and is never too far away. Where Green goes, a camera certainly follows.

Power is also what she craves. She gets that from her immense fundraising efforts, and Greene couldn’t do it without acting out. It’s the shock value she wants, and she usually gets it.

It would be lovely if we could oust Greene. Alas, her area in Georgia is bluer than the most lustrous blueberry. What we can do is continue to tie her to the GOP and let people know that this vulgar person is now one of the faces of the Republican Party.
