Paul Manafort sells out Roger Stone to Robert Mueller

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Five weeks ago, when Paul Manafort first cut a plea deal which formally required him to fully cooperate with every aspect of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, Palmer Report wrote that it was a “wee bit of a problem for Roger Stone.” Why? Mueller has a grand jury going against Stone, and Manafort and Stone have a professional relationship going back decades. Sure enough, now we’re getting confirmation that Manafort has indeed sold Stone out to Mueller.

Palmer Report pointed out on September 14th that back in the 1980s, Roger Stone and Paul Manafort worked for a political lobbying firm called Black, Manafort, Stone and Kelly, which catered to foreign clients. Now ABC News is reporting that Mueller’s recent interviews with Manafort have indeed focused on Stone, while citing that same lobbying firm. So how do we know that Manafort has indeed sold out Stone? If he refused todo so during the interview, his plea deal would already have been revoked by now.

It’s still not clear when Robert Mueller will seek to indict and arrest Roger Stone. This morning Bloomberg reported that Mueller is planning to make his big move against Donald Trump shortly after the midterm elections, and Palmer Report explained here why Mueller is taking that strategic approach. But Mueller’s arrest of Stone could come before or after that.

Meanwhile, Roger Stone doesn’t seem to be taking the news well. In his most recent instagram posts, Stone implied that Robert Mueller is trying to steal his Gmail password. Stone also seemed to think he scored a victory by pasting the head of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein onto the body of a rat. We’re not sure this is the kind of, ahem, legal defense that will get Stone very far with a judge.
