Make Incarceration Great Again
I’ve said for a long time now, that I do not believe Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee for president of the United States of America. But what if he is? What if he is?
I must stop momentarily and marvel at what a Trump candidacy would look like. How in the world would the man campaign? And what would he say to his judges? “I’m sorry you’re Honor, I can’t be in court for my trial next week. I have to speak at one of my miserable rallies in Iowa.”
And if he is convicted and sentenced to prison time before the 2024 election? He would not be able to use truth social. He would not be able to participate in any debate against President Biden. Unless, of course, he phoned in from prison, but somebody would have to accept the collect call. I am not convinced that anybody would.
Would reporters file in silently cameras in hand, to visit him and get him on film? I highly doubt it since it’s quite unlikely prisons would allow media cameras in the prison. Would Trump grant somebody else the right to use his Truth social account and do something like the following
“I am speaking on behalf of presidential candidate Donald Trump. Witchhunt.” That would bring in many votes, I’m sure. Has the man even thought for one second about his upcoming fate? And have the Republicans — any of them — thought about the humiliation of running a candidate from the pokey?
Have they thought about down-ballot races? Have they considered the realization they could lose it all because we are here to ensure they do? No, I don’t want Donald Trump to be the presidential nominee, and I’m sure he will not be. I don’t see how he realistically CAN be.
But there is no doubt that if he were we would have a lot of fun watching Republicans try to defend their high and mighty candidate, who would be locked in a cell for crimes against America. Maybe the Republicans’ new slogan should be “Making incarceration great again.”
